Individual Therapy

In a session with me you can expect a warm, nonjudgmental space where you can show up exactly as you are. I’m a thoughtful, approachable therapist who will meet you with curiosity, compassion, and respect — whether you're sorting through overwhelming emotions, navigating a tough transition, or feeling stuck. Our work is collaborative and tailored to your needs; some days might focus on deeper reflection, while others are more practical and skills-based. I aim to offer a steady, supportive presence so you feel safe, understood, and empowered to grow at your own pace.

Family Therapy

Family therapy with me is about helping everyone in the room feel heard, respected, and on the same team — even if it hasn’t felt that way in a while. I work with parents and kids to slow things down, tune into what’s really going on underneath the behaviors, and build stronger communication that actually works in real life, not just in theory. I’ll guide you through real-time coaching so you can practice new ways of connecting and setting limits that stick. We’ll also look at the family as a whole system — the roles everyone plays, the patterns that repeat, and how each person’s emotions affect the others — and work together to shift things so that your home feels like a safe, supportive space for everyone.

In Utah, therapists (such as LCSWs and counselors) typically hold a master’s degree and provide talk therapy, while psychologists have a doctoral degree and can perform psychological testing and offer specialized therapy. Psychiatrists are medical doctors who can prescribe medication and also provide therapy, focusing more on the medical aspects of mental health.

Therapy can take many forms, including individual counseling, couples or family therapy, and group sessions—each designed to meet different needs and goals. Depending on your situation, therapy might focus on talk-based approaches, skill-building, or experiential methods to help you process emotions, improve relationships, and develop coping strategies.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors to improve emotional regulation. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) builds on CBT by adding skills in mindfulness, distress tolerance, and emotional regulation, especially helpful for intense emotions and interpersonal challenges. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) emphasizes accepting difficult feelings and committing to values-based actions to create a meaningful life, blending mindfulness with behavioral change.
